The usual recommended dose of estradiol for menstrual disorders is estradiol 3 mcg orally for 4 to 6 months. However, it is important to note that this dose of estradiol should not be used in conjunction with the use of certain other medications for the treatment of menopause. In general, the estradiol dosage regimen is to be taken as a single daily dose of estradiol.
If you are unable to take a single daily dose of estradiol, or if you have not taken a single day of the regimen in the past, then your doctor may prescribe a dose of 5 mcg estradiol orally.
